Waking up to misty mornings, taking footsteps between rocks, crossing the little water streams, to the breathtaking view of Kudremukha peak- it’s a lifetime explore of western Ghats.

Kudremukha trek is the one you can choose if you want to do a western Ghats trek. It’s a moderate level trek.It’s a one day trek. You can complete with 6 hrs if you have a good pace of climbing.

Total trek distance is 18km. Situated at 1892meters.

How to reach? It is around 340 km from bangalore. You can reach the base point via chickmagaluru, kalasa route. Reach Mullodi village, where the journey begins.

Taking local guide to trek is must. The local villagers will be available. Start early in morning. Have breakfast. Take food for afternoon. Preferably anything which can be packed like rice items. Carry water bottle, don’t worry about getting empty, you will cross more than 15 streams, which is pure form of water, can refill there. You have cross forest checkpost. Where they will check the bags, check the tickets. Your journey begins…

The terrain is not so difficult. You will get most of the flat land and gradual hike. Some of the streams are big. Need to cross them carefully. The peak you need to reach appears during the hike. There’s a unique single tree almost middle of the trek. This act as signpost. You are almost halway now. The eye-catching view awaits. Continue the hike, and reach the peak, to the awful moment.

If rainy season the scene will be cloudy. You may have trek completely in rain. So carry the necessary rain coat, jacket, poncho. In summer it will be closed as the dried grass is vulnerable to forest fire. The peak is perfect spot to enjoy shola forest.
